The MS3680 is a highly integrated silicon-based beamforming IC designed for Ku-band phased array satellite communication terminals. It covers both receive (10.7–12.7 GHz) and transmit (14–14.5 GHz) Ku-band SATCOM frequencies. The chip integrates 4 receive (Rx) and 4 transmit (Tx) channels, along with on-chip power combining and splitting networks.
Each Rx and Tx channel supports 6-bit amplitude and 6-bit phase control. Configuration and control are managed via a standard 4-wire SPI interface, enabling full control of bias adjustment, per-channel on/off switching, and Tx/Rx mode selection.
The chip supports beam state storage for fast beam switching and features five address pins (ADD0–ADD4), allowing up to 32 devices to be daisy-chained in a serial control network.
The MS3680 operates with a 1.2 V analog core supply and 3.3 V digital I/O, supporting standard 3.3 V CMOS logic levels.
The device is offered in a WLCSP (BGA) package and supports an operating temperature range of –40°C to +85°C.
MS3680 is ideal for Ku-band phased array SATCOM systems and active antenna front-ends.
